A 12 hour Graphic Design workshop given to teens aged 9-14 years old at Studio Be! Working from day one towards a final project of exhibiting graphic posters aimed at raising awareness on sociopolitical causes of their choice.
As a team we created a hypothetical organisation, we brainstormed our values & came up with a name " On The Edge". Each team member had to create a logo for the organisation & the logo with the most votes would be evident in all our posters.
I Naeem am against poaching sumatran rhinos! - 9 years old.
"They are getting killed because of their horns which are being sold for a lot of money. In my poster i represented the Rhino horns in the start all of them are cut but there is only a little bit more sumatran rhino`s left in the whole world."
I Yasmine am against Breast Cancer! - 10 years old.
In Jordan more than 7,000 have been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. It is one of the most common of cancer in Jordanian females, 37.3 % in 2012. Inspired by my mothers friend; a breast cancer survivor, I created this poster emphasising that you can BEAT cancer.
I Haya am against Drugs! - 11 Years old.
"My poster is aimed at the commonly spread drug nowadays in Jordan going around with the name of The Joker.
The Joker is killing a lot of people, being sold as candy and thats how i tied it all together with the face of the Joker and its saying plus the trippy background."
Haya is also the winning designer of our hypothetical organisation "On the Edge".
I Yasmina am against bullying! - 11 years old.
"My poster is about how all the people should unite together and become one big force that is stronger than the bully.
I used blue and pink to represent people from different cultures and differ- ent genders all uniting for a bigger cause and putting their differences aside."
I Zina am against plastic surgery! - 12 years old.
"Because it is very important for a person to love themself and how they look like. People think they should get plastic because they don’t look good or they aren’t “Perfect”. "
I Bana am against wasting water! - 12 years old.
"I feel like most of the earth is water and we are wasting it on the silliest things. Water is an extremely important resource for the earth and scarce one for Jordan So, lets stop wasting water, because every drop counts. "
I Nadine, go against honour killing! - 14 Years old.
Honour killing is one of the major problem in our society. Many inno- cent girls and woman have died for dishonouring their family, when they have done nothing wrong. I chose to shed light of this topic because approximatley 5000 people die per year due to honour killing and not enough focus is being given to this important matter.

It's really astonishing to see how someone this young, with zero background in design or design programs, can create impeccable ideas & deliver powerful messages.
