    Kids Tennis Day 2017

We partnered with Tennis Australia to design and produce an experience to entertain and inspire a new generation of young players.

We ran morning activities such as character stage shows, meet and greets, bubble art and a gif station all around Melbourne Park. At midday we produced an arena show in Rod Laver Arena and brought our concept of audience engagement and team building to life. We facilitated a partnership with Dreamworks and included performances by Trolls characters alongside favourites such as Kung Fu Panda and the Penguins of Madagascar.

For the arena event Local Peoples managed all stage production, talent management for 50 participants, 720m2 of animated LED content in the round, a musical performance by X-Factor star Taylor Henderson, and coordinated fun tennis games for four of the world’s hottest players – Novac Djokovic, Roger Federer, Daria Gavrilova and Milos Raonic.


RECORD ATTENDANCE
Due to the popularity of our chosen characters and musical act we experience a sell-out crowd on the day.

TEAM ACTIVITIES
We turned the old Kids Day model on its head and pitched an idea where every attendee was on one of four teams. Activities and the arena show were centred around this concept of friendly competition and building connection through teamwork. The kids loved it and really got into the action of the Cheer-o-meter and Dance-offs.

GLOBAL BRAND MANAGEMENT
Navigating complex legal agreements between Tennis Australia, Sony, Dreamworks and Melbourne Park, and being mindful of key corporate sponsors ANZ, New Balance and Medibank meant clear communication and in-depth knowledge of insurance, risk and safety assessments were key.
