City of Portage, government website
We worked closely with the City of Portage to come up with a new design for their website. One of our biggest challenges was organization. They had over a hundred pages of content and hundreds of PDF documents. We spent a considerable amount of time planning basic organization, navigation links, and coming up with ways to make all this information accessible to the site users.
We were able to reduce the overall number of pages and organized their documents into a few basic categories. Their new site is mobile responsive, searchable, and easier to use. It uses a Google calendar to keep track of events and displays announcements via a blog feed. Lastly, we trained the city staff how to maintain the site and add content themselves.
