ABSTRACT
This projekt presents the design of a semi-detached "In-fill" house on the waterfront of Østre Havn in Aalborg. The house is designed for a family of four; parents with two children. First part of the booklet briefly describes the method and approach to the problem of how to design a family home at this given location. After a short introduction to the background and context relevant to the design of the family home, a range of requirements and criteria are put forward. The final design is based on these requirements and criteria. A main challenge has been to draw daylight into the long narrow volume of the building, and to create a coherent and interesting flow between the floors and rooms. This is done by introducing an atrium in the middle of the building, and letting the flow between the floors run around this atrium. Finally the design is presented in plans, sections and renderings.
