This is kind of a sketch I made for a project thats in the works. I bought fabric that I had intended to dye and embroider for a different project, but that fabrics were made of acetate and polyester, fibers that can't be dyed in the RISD dye lab. So instead, I printed on these fabrics using a disperse dye paint that was heat transferred on. This process gave the fabrics a water color like effect so I thought, what better way to plan this project out than to just make the pattern out of watercolors first. I made so washes, photographed them, and then took them into photoshop and illustrator to start designing. The final pattern will be laser cut from the satin and mesh fabrics that I printed on, and then sewn onto black silk chiffon.
