Essenza – The Essence of Motorcycles

Launched in 2016, the innovative motorcycle sprint series with its own design competition brought international motorcycle manufacturers and race rider onto the racetrack. 16 racing teams compete against each other in a knockout system.
The basis of the logo consists of 16 lines representing the 16 participants in the sprint. The E symbolises the start lines for both participants in a race. The corporate design visualises speed in all its forms.
The logo design, the customised type design, the business equipment, the bookazine, various merchandise products, the exhibition design, the responsive interface design and the entire social media communication were designed.
The title of the bookazine shows the logo of the Essenza brand. The basis of the logo consists of 16 lines representing the 16 participants in the sprint. The E symbolises the start lines for both participants in a race. The corporate design visualises speed in all its forms.
The bookazine is a tribute to motorcycling culture, the manufacturers and the race rider, but also to the motorcycle itself. The magazine was designed, produced and published between two racing events, within four weeks.
The personally designed and hand-made typefaces interpret the various areas of motorcycling culture: “Essenza Speedlines” for the speed of the race, “Essenza Customizing” for the motorcycle modifications by the manufacturers and the participants and “Essenza Asphalt Brush” for the racetrack marks.
