A Picnic to Say Sorry
A YCN brief to create the perfect M&S Picnic
I created this picnic in response to a YCN brief to create the perfect M&S Picnic. I liked the idea of basing the picnic on an apology picnic, this seemed an ideal approach as the product itself is a time consuming activity so this could be taken advantage of.
In a sense not only is the consumer buying a product but they are also buying time with the person they’ve upset that can be used to put the issue right again. I decided to add phrases to each stage of the picnic to assist the reconciliation and to try and make this seem more personal I decided to hand-render these phrases. The entire picnic culminates in the final box reading 'Kiss and Make Up' and can be opened to reveal 2 mints inside.
The colour scheme was limited to the classic M&S black and lime green to keep the picnic cohesive with the M&S brand.
