A school project I had in 2011, where the task was to make an LP cover for a band, someone else in the class had picked and done research on. This was randomly picked by the teacher, and the band I got, was Massive Attack.
After looking through the research I got from the other student, doing some research on my own, and listening to the music......this is what I ended up with.

So this is the picture I started with. I hightened the contrast drastically, and used it as a reference for the illustration
After the drawing was done I decided to go back to version nr 2, and use the "unfinished" and "destroyed" look as a base to the rest of the design.
Added some lines and some more scribbling plus more space, to use on the back of the cover.
To go further with the look of the illustration, I integrated the text into the drawing.
Cover with inner slevee. Continued with the lines and the scribbling on the inner sleeve, and choosed to print it in black to create a nice contrast to the cover.
