MyFord magazine ran for 15 issues. I worked on all but the very last one.
It was around this issue I think that Ford Australia let us know that the head of Ford Worldwide had visited them and had decided that our magazine was the best Ford magazine anywhere. He took copies away to show other people how to do it. Oh! And I had to design this...
This is the front of it and...
This is the back. It's a survey and competition entry form that the reader filled in then glued and folded into a return envelope. Once it got back to Ford they would tear down the perforated edges and input their customers responses. There were three different types. We printed 100,000 odd and 20,000 of them came back with the first issue. Ford were amazed. To be fair you could win a new car but they had never had that sort of return before. I was relieved that it all worked - no-one gave me a template as it hadn't been done before and it all worked like a charm. Phew!
Ford introduced new corporate branding guidelines and so the mag was tweaked to incorporate the new look and feel.
The gap in SPLENDOUR is for the gutter.
