PASOS IS A VISUAL JOURNEY TO ONE OF THE OLDEST RELIGIOUS CELEBRATIONS IN SPAIN, THE EASTER PROCESSION
A photographic project documenting the celebration; including the careful preparation by and anticipation of the people taking part, through to the 12 hour annual procession in the streets of Cadiz, southern Spain, by the Brotherhood of Nazareno de Sta. Maria.
Considered by many to be the most important date in the Roman Catholic calendar, the religious event is planned by the Church and its congregation well in advance of the date. The procession occurs once a year through the night during a period of 12 hours. Families, young and old flock to the streets hours in advance in anticipation to watch the procession make its way through the streets.
The project consists of three key elements, an exhibition, a book and a multimedia website/mobile app. The focus currently is on recording this event through still photography, audio and video. Once the footage has been recorded I will concentrate on reviewing the best way to present the content.
PASOS ES UN VIAJE VISUAL A UNA DE LAS CELEBRACIONES RELIGIOSAS MAS ANTIGUAS DE ESPANA, LA PROCESION DE SEMANA SANTA
Un proyecto fotográfico que documenta la procesion, incluyendo la preparación y la anticipación de las personas que participan, a través de la procesión anual de 12 horas en las calles de Cádiz, por la Cofradía del Nazareno de Santa María de Cádiz.
Considerado por muchos como la fecha más importante del calendario católico romano, el evento religioso está prevista por la Iglesia y su congregación con suficiente antelación a la fecha . La procesión tiene lugar una vez al año durante un período de 12 horas. Familias, jóvenes y adultos acuden a las calles con horas de antelación a la espera de ver la procesión, las calles están llenas de gente para ver la procesión hacer su camino a través de las distintos barrios de la ciudad.
El proyecto consta de tres elementos clave, una exposición, un libro y una aplicación multimedia. El foco principal del proyecto es el registro de este evento a través de fotografía, audio y video. Una vez que el material ha sido grabado me concentraré en decidir cual es la mejor manera de presentar el contenido.
