Rocking Chair, bent plywood
This conceptual rocking chair evolved out of the idea of calming, repetitive behaviors. Building the mold itself elicited calming and repetitive behaviors as each of 34 vertical planes were cut and routed. Several sheets of ply were glued and clamped in the mold and left to fully cure before repeating with the next stack of sheets. The two pieces were then cut, sanded and finished with danish oil.
