Ecological Mat Museum
design of systematically organized and horizontally expansive ecological museum
Created in an architectural design studio, this project was oriented around mat-buildings and comprehensive systematic patterns for organizing architectural program.
This expansive multi-level museum features plants from the 33 ecological plant communities, organized by both region and typology. Two complementary worlds are featured: the curated spaces for visitors to experience the exhibited plants, and the behind-the-scenes support spaces required the maintenance.
