Caricature/Cameo Illustration

INTRODUCTION
My project was to create a Caricature and a Cameo Illustration of Adisa Codner. The most difficult part about this project was using the iPad, because I don't have a lot of experience drawing on them.

MATERIALS:
CREATIVE PROCESS:
I thought about the Caricature Illustrator and how the old fashioned silhouettes were styled, and created a boarder on the Adobe Draw app.
For the Cameo Illustration, I asked Adisa about herself and she told me she has a son, and she loves to paint on her free time, so I added that information into her caricature.
I took pictures of Adisa posing and used that as my background and created a new layer to draw over it.
PRODUCTION METHODS/WORKFLOW:
I got the hang of using the stylus pen, so I started to add more detail on the caricature. Adisa had donuts on her backpack and I zoomed in and added little donuts to her caricatures backpack.

I found that drawing her caricature was easier to draw because the lines didn't need to be perfect, and I had to make her look as silly as possible, but still make sure that she was recognizable.
CONCLUSION:
I enjoyed using these tools to create my Caricature and Cameo Illustration. I've never worked with an iPad or stylus pen to draw someone before and it's a lot easier than trying to do it on a pc.
