MWA Watershed Report Card

The Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA) publishes an annual Watershed Report Card, which informs the public about the quality of the watershed. With complicated graphs and scientific terminology, the MWA found that the report wasn't accessible to the general public, which we aimed to address.

For the redesign, we carefully developed icon sets for each piece of criteria within the grading system (i.e. Nitrate Level, Water Temperature, Aquatic Life, and Habitat, and Water Clarity and Phosphorous levels). So that the report is more approachable to the general public, these icon sets not only reflect the grade, but also what that grade indicates in the real world. For example, the icon system for Nitrate levels shows a glass of water becoming clearer, indicating whether the water is drinkable or not. The report itself has a simple layout so that the MWA can use this as a template for future reports.
