When I was first approached by Jennifer Lawler, a writer and editor, about redesigning her website, I was originally a little worried that her site lacked a single clear direction and purpose. It, in fact, had three or four directions and purposes.
Notwithstanding, she makes it work using her writing skills to give a voice to each purpose and does so quite effectively. Her site includes travel stories with her daugher Jessica, who has tuberous sclerosis, along with her book proposal class information, and a blog that is geared to authors and aspiring authors. And if that wasn't enough, it also highlights the 25+ books she's written.
The design of the site utilized an icon she had created with another designer for her Twitter and Facebook pages. I used the icon as the unifying branding element that is tied into her name logotype along with design details within the site.
