Central Saint Martins Degree Show Two
Website, Print | 2016
Client: Central Saint Martins MA Design (Ceramics); MA Design (Furniture); MA Design (Jewellery)
Role: Graphic Designer
My client was very particular about creating an aesthetic that would remove any graphic treatment that takes away from the imagery. This inspired me to set most of the type vertically and all images horizontally, which would force the reader to rotate the catalogue each time they switch between text and images. This principle was also used throughout the website, which ended up in a minimalist database for the graduate projects of the course.
As a practice-led master programme with three pathways, my design challenge was to represent the permeability of the boundaries of each discipline. For this, I created a gradient palette which would define fluid territories for the whole course. As a result, each project represents a unique intersection within this wide range.
Exhibition catalogue for Central Saint Martins Degree Show was presented and given away to the visitors during the show and the website lived for a period of time after the show.
