"The Porch Project" Kickstarter accepted proposal to construct a replica of my grandmothers front porch for Capstone. My Great Aunt Janie from Brunswick, Georgia. Glynn County named Jane Macon Middle school after her in 1952. The hot summers of Brunswick lead her to the cool mountains of northern Georgia where she built the cabin in 1932. Passing on the cabin to my grandmother in 1975, the cabin became a place of great memories as a child to at peace on the porch with crickets or adventurous by the creek in the woods.

My favorite view of our family porch cruising on the beltway. This project taught me its ok to ask for help and engage community in my work.

The porch is now a play structure at my elementary school where students imaginative play go beyond the porch as it has become a variety of places depending on who has claimed it for recess!
