ZARU aims to display the concept of salt packaging in a sustainable and tactile form. It promotes salt as a signature ingredient used in culinary art, combined with watercolour paintings to produce imagery for this paper packaging. This has been achieved via the technique known as salt resist. The reaction between the salt crystals and the coloured pigments of the watercolour inks create its unique effects. Each of the handmade papers aspires to evoke the depth and movement of the origin of each type of salt. Resembling the shape of a traditional milk carton, each packaging is individually distinctive and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
