Community Coffee is passionate about connecting people and leaving each community they touch a little better than when they found it. So we created a participatory art gallery to bring people together and reignite the true spirit of community. We filled an empty space in downtown Dallas with vintage postcards and invited people to write a note to their neighbors. A note that expressed their gratitude, hopes or dreams.

Thousands of people participated, spreading love and support to their neighbors – most of whom they’d never even met. Musicians hung out there with acoustic guitars. Skateboarders cruised under the notes. And so many people found joy and comfort in the words of strangers. As the message radiated on social media with #MakeItCommunity, that feeling extended far beyond the gallery’s four walls.
