Different Glass Samples

These are all different samples I have made in glass. They show a range of different colours, layers and techniques.
This was the first piece of glass I made, therefore I was just testing out different ways of cutting the glass and different grains of glass.
This is a piece that I made to test out the different blues and the way that they came out once it had being fired.
Here i was testing out the different ways that colours work together once they have been layered and fired. Although I sandwiched the layers of colour between two thinner, clear pieces of class it still came out of the kiln with slight indentations and air bubbles.
This is a top view of my layered glass piece that I laid over a plaster mould. As you can see the design from the plaster has transferred onto the glass which is my desired effect. I also added small pieces of metal into the glass to see what effect they would have once fired. I think that the metal looks really nice layered with the glass however the thicker the metal the more it reacts when it is fired and causes bubbles to form.
This is the reverse of the glass that was fired over a plaster mould. This image was taken with some of the plaster still attached to the glass, however I like the way it is only concentrated around the areas that that have the indented pattern.
