The Last Man
The Last Man is a limited edition fanzine that documents the work of some of the main street-writers in Beijing during 2015.
The main author of the works depicted –in a dystopia story– reimagined himself as the last man in the world writing messages on the ruins of a post-human city to find out possible survivors.
The stories depicted in this fanzine does not lack of surrealism: haunting spirits, an iper-controlled city during a military parade or a dreamlike ordinary scene. Our writer guides the reader along the misterious, obsessive paintings of these pages through his unique perspective.
The small e-posters below were part a viral campaign on the platform WeChat to promote the launch of the fanzine.
Below a preview of 末人 (The Last Man). The artworks on this web preview have been censored to avoid over-exposure of the artists involved in the project.
The intense activity all around the city is completely an end in itself. A low white noise pervades every corner of the city.
