The Collector tells the story of a girl whom everyone finds trustworthy enough to tell all of their secrets. The secrets range from silly to serious. As she becomes weighed down from the words, we learn what the secret keepers secret is.
As a self portrait, I wanted to focus on visually telling the story of a complex part of my personality. I love to do story telling and the project gave me the opportunity to delve into creating characters and trying to get the audience to connect with them. The visual style was also something I had been wanting to try. The story visually transitions from a very blue and low saturated world to something that becomes brightly colored when the main character gets to break free from her secret.
