The Real London
Community through the faces of it's creatives
Community through the faces of it's creatives
Cities are defined by it's creatives. When you think of New York, NY you think theatre. When you think of Paris you think fashion. When you think of Los Angeles you think movies. Art and culture are intertwined and can never be separated. Every community has it's own culture and I am in search of my culture.
Welcome to London, Ontario, Canada. We are about two hours away from pretty much any city of note when it comes to art and culture. I, like many that live in London, believed London was a dead zone when it came to creative thinking.
I started The Real London to see exactly what London's artistic community looked like. Was is it as void as I had always thought, or was there a thriving ecosystem of artists just under the radar. Over the past year and a half I have discovered that the latter was true. Using mainly social media like Twitter and Facebook I have met and photographed dancers, writers, tattoo artist, singers, painters, photographers and poets.
The Real London is an on going project to help spread the word of this artistic community and to inform my fellow Londoners that we do in fact have a culture and it needs to be supported
