MICA Graphic Design Resource Guide 2016-2017;

My main project for my Summer 2016 work study, the MICA GD Resource Guide is a comprehensive guide to all things accessible for MICA Graphic Design students. The document is available on the MICA GD website and incorporates the typical MICA GD Department aesthetic mixed with my own. The mini laptop mirrors are a package that was given to the 2019 GD class at the 2016 Sophomore Convocation. Each came in a miniature MacBook box with a custom made sticker that showed their face through the FaceTime box on the front as well as a little card with the url to the Resource Guide online.

Top: Back to Square One board game. Bottom: playing pieces.

"Back to Square One!" is a fully functional board game inspired by my life. It is a single-player game, and the player essentially rolls the dice and picks cards corresponding to the color they land on; depending on the card, they are usually sent back to square one, thus making the game intentionally repetitive and unwinable. The cards themselves each have various personal experiences on the back of them that give the player a more intimate view into my life.
The Royal Font Families;

The Royal Font Families is an accordion-fold books targeted at children, with the goal of teaching them more about type and getting them excited about it while doing so. The book acts as an introductory device for children to learn about the royal characters, each of which have been constructed entirely out of type and allows them to immerse themselves in their storylines.

Jaux;

"Jaux" is an autobiographical commentary on myself and the doll-like persona I have adapted for myself. Themes of control, self-sexualization/objectification and general artificiality that generally get explored in my work are touched upon here more literally than figuratively.

Glass Menagerie Promotional Materials;

My partner, Jenny Rosenberg–who has given me written consent to include this project in my scholarship portfolio–and I were given the task of marketing our school's production of The Glass Menagerie. We decided upon the usage of muted grays and dull blues to allude to the importance of glass in the play but also the somber feeling of the story. Items made to promote the production included posters, tickets, a snapchat geofilter and a pamphlet the audience received the night of the shows (unphotographed.)
