This project involved renovation of three historic residence halls into a residential college for the university's honors program. It also involved addition of elevators and replacement of the mechanical systems for all three buildings. In analyzing the program and how it fit into the existing building, we produced several scenarios that allowed the university to analyze return on investment of construction expenditure. The conclusion was to maintain the existing structures for student rooms, lounges and faculty apartments, and to construct a new commons building that could both house the shared functions of the village and function as a gateway to the complex.
