The Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) split off from the mainstream Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) at the turn of the 20th century. They settled on the Arizona/Utah state line, in an area then called Short Creek (now Colorado City, AZ, and Hildale, UT) and maintained their old beliefs, including polygamy.
