The whale shark is the largest fish that exists in the world today, it can grow up to 15 meters in length. It is found in open waters of the tropical oceans and is rarely found in water below 22 °C (72 °F). They have very large mouths and are filter feeders, eating plankton which is rich in nutrients in the area between isla Mujeres and Holbox island in summer time.

Freediving was done in a special custom dress suit made with wetsuit materials by Oceaner Sporting Goods Canada to give a surreal look with the whale sharks. Photos by Matt Adcock.
