Our team (me, Zaira Daradar, Derrick Deñola - and with the art direction of Paolo Garrido) created various colorful and lively 2D animated clips for the Kalibo Santo Niño Ati-Atihan Festival video of entrepreneur and filmmaker, Patrick Martin. The team designed vector elements of the Ati-atihan festival composed of head dresses, feathers, beads, poles, wooden patterns, shields, and others. In order to capture the dynamic and energetic aura of the Festival, the team produced a frame by frame animation of water-like or smoke-like splashes of vibrant colors which are partnered with doodle elements accompanying the flow of the splashes. Apart from frame by frame animations, the team also created versions of stilled images with changing background and foreground colors alongside the vector Ati-atihan elements in an exploding animation accompanied with bits of splashes.
This project is commissioned by Patrick Martin - Adventure Films, and the DOT (Department of Tourism).
