The Location:

The concept:
Our type design workshops deals with usable (non decorative) typefaces – bodytext and display typefaces for print and digital usage. 
The final products includes typefaces with 40 characters minimum, which are later displayed on our Behance page. 
Beginners and advanced typedesigners are all accepted.
They should know the basics of Glyphs, FontLab or similar programs, and bring their own computer.

the mentors:

When presenting the good cop / bad cop of the duo, the picture says it all.
If not, it's of most importance you know the good cop can carry a Pink Floyd tune unplugged.

Aljaž Vesel, BA now a comentor, was a prominent participent of the workshop. 
Our current logo is set in his Emsley type family he started working on our first workshops he participated.
He graduated on Academy of Fine Art and Design / Department of Design of Visual communications in Ljubjana.
Is known best as the Glyphs master and commander of the workshop, 
a graphic designer and a lead guitaris at published rock band Wrong Moose.
In 2013 he won Brumen category award at 6th Biennial Of Slovene Visual Communications. 
From 2016 he is the art director of Dnevnik newspaper saturday supplement Objektiv.

Tomato Košir, MA is the founder and mentor of TypeClinic – international type designing workshops,
and coorganiser of 1st Festival of Letters, Ljubljana. He graduated in 2002, MA finished in 2007,
was an assistant professor at Department of Design, Academy of Fine Art and Design 2009–2011.
He won merit award at Art Directors Club (ADC) New York, Red Dot Award, 
2nd student prize Certificate of Typographic Excellence (Type Directors Club, New York),
Grand Prix – Big Brumen Award of Slovene Visual Communications, Gold Award at ICMA, 
International Creative Media Award, and was picked to Adweek 100 talents.

Visiting mentor Florian Runge:

Florian Runge, MA is an interdisciplinary designer working at the intersection of graphic design, 
typography and typeface design we know from TypeClinic's 4th workshop. His work has been awarded, 
featured internationally, and displayed at various exhibitions. 
Florian collaborates with design studios, branding agencies & type foundries around the world.
He is an associate at Brody Associates where he works on custom fonts, and has published
his Gitan type family with Rosetta Type Foundry
His interests range from multilingual typeface design to responsive typography, conceptual
type-systems and to the realm of web, UI and information design. In his previous research he
explored 20th century Danish type design and investigated typographic practices in the Devanagari script. 

the spirit:
Sharing knowledge, working hard, creating puns harder is our motto. 
So far we've made friends with participants from: Austria, Australia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Spain, Romania, United Kingdom ...

Warning: During the workshop the participations may develop a specific type of humor, strangely not entirely appreciated elsewhere.
Typical symptoms would be splendid word games, small squirrel and llamas worship, and Monty Python adoration.

the participation fee:
Participation fee is 360 Eur, which covers mentorship, sleeping and eating arrangement & prints.
