A series of four illustrations created in response to a visit to Hiroshima, Japan. The experience was deeply distressing, but I felt it a necessary one. To learn about the total destruction and long lasting, traumatic after effects of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th 1945, during which 129,000 people died, was a savage reminder why the events must never be repeated.

I found the melted Buddha statue particularly harrowing. An image so often associated with peace sits in a glass case, tarnished by something far from that concept.
