Animal-Inspired Shoe Wear
'Ocean Step'
This shoe project was originally commissioned by Gary Flax of 'Creatures': Animal look-alike shoes which have become a hit in overseas markets.
The conceptualisation process involved analysis of characteristic features pertaining to that creature. Animals which were explored in this section range from the Siberian husky, African elephant, tiger and finally: the Orca whale. Materials such as neoprene and dyed cork were proposed for Ocean Step, the whale-inspired shoe.
