Music Education Promotion

This project was completed completely in Adobe Illustrator CC.  Starting from very basic ideas about the benefits of music education gathered from research the project began as text grouped into five categories arranged in a circular manner on page: Community; Culture: Self-development; Career; Connecting with others through music.  The project progressed with hand drawn music notes using the pencil tool and I went on to illustrate instruments using vector drawing tools.  I began most with simple lines and rounded rectangles that were then reiterated with blend tools or by transforming and duplicating moves.  Various blend modes were used to overlay the quarter notes, or in the case of the glockenspiel, the mallets.  The ground is a simple gradient with some watermarked music notes.  The singer in the bottom left corner was made from scratch using the pencil tool, mouse drawn body and bow tie, ellipse tool for head.  I did illustrate it myself although  it is modeled after a similar image from another artist.  Chalkboard font style was chosen to emphasize the early education and childlike theme.  The rooster weather vein is a stock symbol in illustrator.  Other than that, just some simple drop shadows and use of white, bright yellow and black for text.  The horn was also illustrated with the pencil tool, gradient fill and simple effect above to create visualized sound emanating from bell.
