This concept enables users to 3d print their own music. Inspired by old music boxes, Echo combines the traditional, mechanical nature of the music box with emerging digital fabrication processes to produce a physical music platform.

Through a digital web interface, the user chooses the design of their pendant and the song they would like stored on it. This is then cast from a 3d-printed wax into a material of their choosing. The user plays the song in the accompanying jewellery box.

The jewellery box design is inspired by the interchangeable cylinder mechanism of the traditional music box. As the pendant is rotated inside the box, the metal teeth are plucked which results in the natural vibration of materials. The sound produced is 

simple and authentic.
