The Forge is one of the first levels I created early on in the development cycle for GoW3.  Most of this level was created using Zbrush, Maya, photoshop.  Everything in the scene I created from start to finish.

Stairs were sculpted out in a small section in Zbrush, then taken into Maya and and merged together into one model to create the stairway
This is a closer shot of the stairs and rock that I created in Zbrush.  The center stair section was separate from the rock on the sides.  I created them as separate models in zbrush then merged them together in Maya for the final model.    Wireframe/shaded mode to show structure of the scene in game.

This is the back wall of the scene that if you played the game would be behind Hephaestus.  You probably wouldn't see all of this in game.  I wanted to show the detail in the walls etc.  This is in game shot wireframe/shaded.
