Cloud Dragon Floating in Sunset
Oneday, I was inspirated an image of a dragon from sunset clouds which are turned into rose madder color.
So, the title, 茜(AKANE), means Japanese traditional color, which is used to represent the color of sunset.
All lines you see in this picure is one line, which is started in right eye of the dragon and ended in my sign with turning around the sun.
Ryu, eastern dragons, are different from image of dragon in Europe. Since ancient, Japnese have seen dragon as a great power of nature, especially the power of water. Also today, there are many shrines worshiping dragon as a god.
雲龍は龍の姿のような雲を見て着想を得、一筆書きの技法で制作した作品の総称です。絵全体を縁取る黒いラインは、右目から始まり、太陽を経由して一周し、右側のIkkaのサインまでつながっています。
「茜」は夕暮れ時、茜色に染まった雲をイメージして描きました。
日本では古くから龍を自然の大いなる力として崇めてきました。
神として、日本各地の神社で祀られています。
