New Zealand based graphic designer Johnson Witehira wanted us to design wallpapers for the Aotearoa House that potrays ideas about Maori and Pakeha world coming together.

  

We were given five different areas to work with; bedroom, living room, kitchen, nursery and bathroom. I chose bedroom.

- Kowhaiwhai pattern -

Represent unity and strength in Maori. I have extensively used this pattern in relation to the bedroom concept so people can easily understand what it means in English. A picture of a bedroom is a solution to visually explain how Maori and Pakeha world in bedroom would come together.
