The Project
The following is personal branding for myself, created when I first formed a limited company and started contracting as a digital designer.
The Direction
Ultimately the use of geometric shapes and gradients was based on my own affinity for such an aesthetic, and is essentially based on a tattoo of mine which I designed a few years ago (after all, how much more personal can 'personal branding' get than a look and feel based on something etched into my skin!). This source of inspiration is depicted below.
The Logo
The logo consists of geometric forms based on the Penrose Triangle impossible shape, which form both a 'J' and an 'S' shape, representing my initials of course.
The Process
The Inspiration
Above is the aforementioned self-designed tattoo of mine, that ultimately informed the design of my personal mark. I'm aware that impossible shapes and the Penrose Triangle are very popular shapes in design, but I'm happy with how this style represent my interests and the kind of design I love.
