Mommy Rocks: picture book illustrations inspired by album cover art
I was so pleased to work with Wendy Parnell of Rocket Star Press on another book together. The previous year I had illustrated the similarly titled but wildly different Rock Star Mom. This story tells of the relationship between a boy and his mom – and all the music they love together. (There are also a few cats thrown in for good measure.) The concept of using album covers to tell the stories was Wendy's own, and as a staunch music lover, I had a few ideas of my own. See if you can spot there references below!
