I needed a few more edgy images to accompany a short series of texts I wrote around the Mari Lwyd tradition of Mid Wales, so I took another look and selected some black and white close-ups. Abstraction often creates ambiguity, and ambiguity stirs doubt and fear in the human mind, so dearly does it love believing it knows what's going on! I like the way flames and shadows become animate, animal, watching back. There are creatures in the light and darkness we can hardly see.
