IDEATION
We took the momentum of a master's degree course to start a web project of ours. After a effervescent brainstorming we elected the following idea: a peer-to-peer food marketplace for discovering independent food providers and food processors in the neighbourhood.
MARKET RESEARCH
We wrote thousands of keywords related to the initial idea and through Google Keyword Planner we found that the topics with higher search volume were about homemade pastry.
Using Google Trends we also found that since the last decade the worldwide interest in homemade pastry had been growing. Therefore we circumscribed our initial idea to this market segment.
PRODUCT CONCEPT
Homecake is a peer-to-peer marketplace for discovering independent bakers, pastry-cooks and confectionery makers in the neighbourhood.
USER RESEARCH
Using Facebook Audience Insights we estimated that more than a half of the users interested in homemade pastry were women between 18 and 44 years old. In the next phases of the project we had particular consideration for these people .
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
The next steps were to create a site map and to draw wireframes.
VISUAL DESIGN
Then we chose the visual guidelines and designed some mockups.
WEB PROTOTYPE
The last task was to develop a web prototype.
