Beginning stages of creating a modular storage unit.
PROBLEM:
There are many already existing shelving units, however not many of them open and close with ease. People do not want to clean up the dust off of things that are placed on them regularly as it is quite time consuming and they do not have a lot of time because of their busy lifestyles. As a result their belongings; things such as books and CDs get covered in dust and after a while become damaged or broken.
DESIGN BRIEF:
To design and manufacture a contemporary storage solution that could provide protection and preservation of items that can be found within a contemporary home, whiles still presenting them. The product should be fully adjustable, allowing the user to create their own storage solution that will suit their needs and their home. In addition, the surface finish of the product should be smooth so that it is quick and easy to clean.
CLIENT:
The clients for my product are young adults and adults (both male and female) between the ages of 17- 30 because, people between these ages have the busiest lifestyle and therefore not enough time to clean up regularly. By choosing this particular target market I will be able to simplify one of the every day tasks which is cleaning.
