This series of posters was created for an exhibition titled 'The Past is Always an Invented Land' at Townhouse Gallery showcasing Amgad Naguib's collection of antiques and miscellanea.

The concept of the exhibition and subsequently of the poster design was to present Amgad’s collection as an archive - a collection of objects and corresponding stories - that is personal and arbitrary in nature.

The poster aims to communicate the haphazardness of the act of collecting, the variety and randomness of the objects and the clutter of Amgad’s spaces (and of the exhibition layout) through a busy and chaotic layout.
