The most symbolic culture of the Greater China region is the “traditional Chinese characters”. We design these two fonts based on this culture; “Fa-Guang” and “Tou-Ming”. The concept of the design is based on the friendliness and candidness. They are not only art displays but also useful fonts in the computer. We hope that “word creation” is not confined to anyone, so we designed the by-products, “movable-type stamps”. The concept of the “movable-type stamps” came from the 8 basic strokes of the character “永 (yong)”. With this stamp set, one can print out all the Chinese characters. This kind of interaction can inspire the users creativity. The style of word creation varies from one user to another, depending on the users’ personalities. We hope to draw attention to the beauty of traditional Chinese characters and to promote Chinese culture. Why stamps? Stamps appeared more than 3000 years ago in the Chinese history. On the other hand, modern stamps are closely related to words and can be used to signing official papers or as art objects. Therefore, we choose stamps as the means to create words.
