A Chip in the Sugar
Based on the content from Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads monologues.
I’ve used different paper stock and material and various ‘tip-ins’ throughout the book to enhance and emphasize the sub-text. For example, Bennett describes a cafe as being ‘all decked out in red’ for this I layered on a semi-translucent sheet of red acetate above the type.
Likewise the layout of the type is centred around the main character and designed to reflect their personality. In this case the structured and heavy grid implies the repressed and isolated character of Graham Whittaker
This project highlights my ability to work creatively with set content and within the constraints of a layout and consistent grid.
5x5 Grid: with 5mm gutters, and 12mm margins. The grid implies characteristics of the speaker.
