For this project we were asked to select a color and research it's associated cultural meanings, and create work reflecting these meanings. Red has a huge range of meanings and symbolism in cultures ranging from luck, power, and seduction. What I chose to show in my images starting from the top were: appetite, energy, danger, power, motion, and seduction. 

This project took planning as some of my images were time sensitive. All six images were shot using light boxes. The image that challenged me the most would be the one of energy: the billowing color in water. This took two lighting sources, a tripod, and a high shutter speed to make every attempt count. This project has inspired me and I would love to continue the series with other colors in the future.
