graphite + watercolour pencils + ink on A1
My entry for a I WW competition organized by the Belgian Tourist Board. The exhibition was hosted at the Oxo Tower Gallery on Southbank, London last November (my piece had won a prize as the people's choice!). The inspiration came from photographs of IWW soldiers, patients of Sir Harold Gillies (considered 'a father' of cosmetic surgery). I only wish I could take a better picture of the drawing, unfortunately the original has been taken away for an exhibition tour. I might consider re-doing it digitally, as the original piece is going to be away for a while.
