In design, there are no longer borders among different divisions. As the borders are fading away, now it is meaningless to distinguish them by different names. For example, within a swimming pool with lanes we have to swim along the pre-determined route, however, in a pool without any pre-determined lanes, we are able to set our own direction to pursue
our goals. Just like the pool without any restrictions, “2016 Konkuk University Communication Design Graduation Show” itself is the procedure and the results of our own decisions and constant efforts toward the goals.
From our exhibition, audiences will be able to see various artistic works resulted from different methods chosen by each student. Some students have chosen to swim broadly, on the other hand, some have chosen to explore deep into water. It is not necessary to judge whether one method is better than the other, as every method has its own uniqueness. We intended to communicate with audiences by achieving our own goals using different media rather than trying to find the answer. This graduate exhibition is the perfect place for our 44 communication design students to swim freely, as a ground for our final project of undergraduate.
I was in charge of the main visual identity of the graduation exhibition of Communication Design Department of Konkuk University in 2016, and I conducted poster, outdoor banner and other applications and graduation exhibition promotion website.
