ATOM Packaging.
As the ‘smallest smoke alarm in the world’, the alarm had to stand out as something completely different from the rest of the range. The pack was created to show off the alarms’ best angles and give such a small item presence on shelf.
The packaging is made up of a 2-piece clamshell with inner card. The clamshell went through several trials to ensure the contents were contained and did not shift, and that the rear ‘foot’ was stable and reliable.
Design for the clamshell and artwork was done by myself, working direct with the third-party manufacturer in China.

The factory in China had very basic ‘hands-on’ vac-forming and toolmaking facilities, so clear views picturing the desired alarm location and orientation had to be drawn up.
Once in the UK, a custom eye-catching display was created to position in secondary locations around stores. This was developed by myself and produced locally in the UK.
