This animation was created as an assignment for my Image Making for Communication class at the LYIT.
The goal was to create the introduction of a serie of videos that could be uploaded on Youtube for example, based on the Ted radio program called The Power Of Design.
I first decided to design the different elements of the animation, chosen thanks to the Stephen Fry's 100 greatest gadgets list ( link ).
Afterwards, I focused on the music : the video had to be of a maximum of 15 seconds. In order to be able to also display the NPR and TED logo, I had to remove the camera from the list, first of all because it was the last, but more importantly because it didn't had any animation of its own ( the lightbulb get lit, the talkie-walkie make noise ), just transitions.
I had to cut the song to make it fit the time needed, and choose a part of it that was funny, punchy and lively, so it was relevant with the speed of the animations and the fact that usually inanimated objects were actually animated.
