Corporate and packaging design for deFuroner, a swiss olive oil producer. deFuroner owns in Baix Ebre, Catalonia, a little plantation with 132 olive trees and also bottles and distributes a small amount of olive oil produced by the 398 other crofters of the local cooperativa. All these few hundred years old trees are mainly cared for by handcraft. deFuroner combines a first-class olive oil production with a respectful, simple, down-to-earth and traditional caring for a millennia-long cultural landscape.

The design of the deFuroner letters is based on the time-honoured logotype outside of the oil mill Cooperativa Olivarera del Baix Ebre.

The inspiration for the label comes from the shapes of the coat of arms of the Spanish comarcas (upright square). The stripes specifically refer to the coat of arms of the Baix Ebre comarca and resemble the flag of Catalunya.

The brighter brown comes from the specific colour of the soil from this region and the darker brown is taken from the olive tree bark. The label is printed on slightly rough paper, also meant to resemble the bark. It contrasts the glossy/smooth glass of the bottle and the oil.
